Billy Ray Cyrus spoke out about the leaked audio in which he can be heard insulting his daughter Miley Cyrus. The leaked audio clip went viral within minutes of hitting the internet. In the audio clip, he scolded his estranged wife Firerose and took a dig at her and his ex-wife Tish. Billy’s lawyers also released a statement regarding the audio leak case.

Billy Ray reacts to leaked audio
While Billie’s lawyers put out a formal statement to clarify the situation regarding the leaked audio clip in which Billie called her daughter “the devil,” Billie, 62, also took to her Instagram account to defend herself. In an Instagram Story, she wrote, “Yeah I was at my wit’s end. As each day went by I started to realize something was wrong. Before I knew she was a cheater. I just knew something wasn’t right.”
He added, “This was before I knew she was David Hodges’ ex-wife. This was before I knew her parents’ last name. I did not know she had been arrested for residential burglary.” He ended his statement with, “I saw before my eyes, everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She was trying to take over my career, my life, and the Cyrus name for her own gain. See you in court,” as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
Billie’s divorce lawyers claimed that the audio was leaked by Firerose while Billie had no idea that she was being recorded on tape. Cheatham Palermo & Garrett’s lawyers Rose Palermo and Jason Talley released a statement in which they mentioned that Firerose attempted to extort money from the Achy Breaky Heart singer during the divorce by releasing the audio clip to the media.

Billy’s lawyer claims Firerose leaked the audio clip
Billie filed for divorce from Firerose in May ahead of their first anniversary, after which Firerose accused her husband of domestic violence. At a hearing regarding their divorce this month, the judge ruled that Firerose had no valid reason to claim access to Billie’s money, credit cards and other valuable assets, after the Some Gave All singer claimed she had spent $96,000 of Billie’s money during the divorce proceedings.
Regarding the leak of the audio clip, Billie’s lawyers said, “She is the person who made the recording without telling Mr. Cyrus she was recording him. Of course, she was knowingly on her best behavior because she knew the recording was being made.”

The lawyers further said in the statement about Firerose’s return to Billy, “If Mr. Cyrus was indeed the person Ms. Hodges wanted public opinion to believe with the release of her one-sided recording, it is mind-boggling to try to explain why Ms. Hodges begged him to return to live with her and why Mr. Cyrus gave her the opportunity to ‘clear everything’ after she filed for an annulment or dissolution of their marriage.”
