Miley Cyrus talks about LA wildfires: Today’s reality is…

Los Angeles: Actress-singer Miley Cyrus has written an emotional post amid the ongoing wildfires in LA and said that Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is debris and destruction.

She recalled her experience of losing her multimillion-dollar mansion with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth by sharing a photo of their destroyed Malibu home years ago, reports aceshowbiz.com.

She described her pain of encountering a pile of debris instead of the loved ones she expected to greet her at the door. The “Wrecking Ball” singer wrote, “It’s a feeling you’ll never forget. My heart goes out to those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand.”

He added, “Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream,’ but today’s reality is debris and destruction.”

Cyrus expressed her gratitude for organizations like the Malibu Foundation, which she helped launch in 2018, and announced her personal support for various relief efforts.

“Time, resources and dedication from inside and outside our community will heal us. But for now it hurts…love always, Miley,” she concluded.

Besides Cyrus, several other celebrities have contributed to wildfire relief efforts. Kim Kardashian is donating vital supplies through her Skims brand while Jamie Lee Curtis has donated $1 million. Paris Hilton started a relief fund after losing her Malibu beach home and pledged to donate up to $100,000.

Halle Berry and Snoop Dogg donated clothing to victims, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle volunteered in the kitchen and helped feed first responders and distribute essential items to those in need. Jennifer Garner offered her assistance with a food truck to serve meals to the affected community.

At least 16 people have been confirmed dead and more than 12,000 structures have been damaged and destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires that began last week.

Authorities have warned that conditions are likely to worsen in the coming days as devastating wildfires continue to rage across parts of Los Angeles County, leading to major events including school closures and the cancellation of entertainment, sports and community events. Disruption occurs on a scale.

Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest public school district in the United States, closed schools on Thursday and Friday to protect students and staff from hazardous air quality. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho emphasized that going to school poses greater risks than staying at home, especially for children with respiratory problems.

Some campuses near evacuation areas also experienced power cuts and low attendance before the closure was announced.

Currently, six wildfires are still burning in Los Angeles County, scorching approximately 36,000 acres. One of the largest fires, the Palisades Fire has so far burned more than 21,300 acres of land and damaged or destroyed more than 5,300 structures.

East of Los Angeles, fires in Eaton Canyon and Highland Park affected schools and homes, with damage reported to two elementary schools and parts of Palisades Charter High School. The Eaton Fire destroyed approximately 14,000 acres of land and damaged or destroyed more than 5,000 structures.
