In a string of celebrity burglaries this year, Sarah Hyland’s Los Angeles home became the latest victim of a spooky break-in – the scariest part being that they spotted masked house breakers.
The Modern Family star’s LA residence was burglarized on Saturday, but it wasn’t until late at night, police sources tell TMZ. According to officials’ statement, the horrific theft happened while it was still daylight.
Fortunately, Hyland did not have to witness this dangerous incident first-hand as she is said to have been out of town at the time of the crime. Despite her personal absence, she became a witness to the incident as she saw the masked men break into her home after receiving an alert from her home security system.
According to official claims, the suspects entered Hyland’s property by breaking a glass window, after which her security system was alerted. Although Sarah was away from her beloved home, she reportedly contacted the police after seeing surveillance footage on her phone, which showed two masked men walking out of the front door of her LA home.

However, the thieves were there before the police arrived. Sources told the outlet that by the time law enforcement officials arrived, the place was quiet as before. Police have not yet arrested any suspects as part of the ongoing active investigation.
Police are awaiting Hyland’s return, but it’s unclear if any valuables were stolen from her home. Sarah will have to make an inventory to check off potentially missing items and their value. She’s the latest victim in a long list of robberies that have occurred in LA this year, after similar incidents have happened to the homes of stars like Marlon Wayans and Bhad Bhabie.

The two-story mansion was built in 2018 and features five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms spread across an area of 5,872 square feet. According to Architectural Digest, the place is packed with modern amenities, including an incredible theater with stadium seating and midnight blue walls. The couple also enjoys the luxurious presence of a pristine blue pool with an inset spa, a unique dining room with ebony hardwood ceilings, and state-of-the-art light fixtures.
Hyland’s home is equipped with smart house capabilities, as the lighting, sound system, and security cameras can all be operated remotely, which likely helped the former Love Island USA host catch home burglars on camera, even if they were from a distance.
