Kochi: Actor Mohanlal, who will be awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards, thanked his fans, colleagues and Malayalam film industry for their standing during their visit.
Addressing the Mediaperson on Sunday, the actor, often called one of the finest stars of Indian cinema, shared that he felt that the award was not only his, but as a whole belonged to Malayalam cinema. He also recalled the moment when he was informed about receiving respect, which he felt like a “wild dream”.
“I am glad that Malayalam cinema has received an award in Indian cinema. I am working in the field of Ishwar (Ishwar), and that is why I say this award was given by Ishwar (Ishwar). Our work also has this honesty. I share this award with everyone, and I remember those people who have passed away.”

“When I got a call from the Prime Minister’s office, I could not believe it first. I felt that it was just a wild dream. So I asked him to tell me again.”
“Cinema has no limit. If I feel guided, I will direct. Cinema is a pan-India, and I will do more. If you ask me that my dream is beyond cinema, I can’t say right now. I can’t say now. I am a person who dreams very little. Good films can be. Good writers and good directors.”

Since the announcement of the award, congratulations have been desires for the actor.
Earlier in the day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu posted a message on X (East Twitter), praising Mohanlal’s outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
“Congratulations to Mr. @mohanlal Ji on being awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest honor in cinema. This well -worthy belief celebrates his outstanding contribution as an actor, director and producer, who has deeply enriched Indian cinema, inspiring generations,” he has written.
In a career spread over four decades, Mohanlal has acted in several films in various styles. Malayalam films are mainly known for their work, Mohanlal has also portrayed Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. He has received many praise including National Award and prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. As another feather in his cap, Mohanlal will be presented with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony to be held on 23 September 2025.
