Mohit Suri’s ‘Sera’ under fire to mimic this Korean classic

Mohit Suri’s latest romantic offering, ‘Saiyara’ has made her dramatic debut and is already creating a proper form, not only for its tender story and intimate music, but also for an unexpected reason. While fans are appreciating the performance of new people, Ahaan Pandey and Aetit Padda are increasing eyebrows on the story of many cinefiles online, claiming that it is a strong similarity for the 2004 South Korean Tierzerer ‘A Moment to Remambar’.

‘Sera’ plot

In the heart of ‘Siarra’, there is a story of a soft -spoken journalist, a desired musician, and Vanani, Krishi Kapoor. His love story takes a heartbreaking turn when Wani is diagnosed with an early beginning Alzheimer’s. Thus, there is a emotional exploration of memory, love and loss, the subject which John H. Lee directed by Lee, in the acclaimed Korean film, mirror those people.

Comparison was first provoked by Reddit users, indicating several overlapping plot elements between the two films. A post commented, “The major plot points are the same, such as Alzheimer’s, confusion with confusion, the girl runs away. Also, the end where she rebuilds the previous moment is the same …”

A user also agreed, “Yes, remember to mimic a moment”.

One user asked, “Except for Alzheimer’s concept, which is a very common trop in dozens of films, what is really here !! The biggest thing that makes the film is different! Where is the music in this Korean film?”

Mohit Suri’s history of Korean inspirations

Suri has been known for hits like ‘Murder 2’ (inspired by ‘The Chaser’) and ‘Ek Saw the Devil’, has faced similar allegations before. His 2007 film Evrapan was also known for his equality with ‘Ek Bitterwight Life’. Given this pattern, fans were in a hurry to guess whether ‘Siara’ could be another informal remake yet.

Interestingly, with the dialogues written by Rohan Shankar, the script of ‘Siara’ is credited to Sankalap Sadanh. Neither the authors nor the director have responded to speculation in public. So far, Yash Raj Films, a banner supporting the project, have also been fed up about the alleged inspiration.

Viewers and critics have equally praised the chemistry between the lead pair, as well as its stirring soundtrack composed by a dress that includes Mithoon, Pache -Parrampara, Vishal Mishra, and more. For many people, ‘Siara’ brings out emotional beats properly, even though beats may feel familiar with the fans of the Drama.
