During his appearance at Sharadul Pandit’s podcast, Khanna talked about that confusion after the development of the film.

While providing insight into his conversation, Khanna revealed, “Ranveer Singh was very keen, even to do Shikhanan. I have said many good things about him. But in the end, I had to clarify: I never said that he praises his performance. He spent three hours with him.
Back in November, reports came out that Ranveer waited for three hours to meet Mukesh Khanna, who was expecting his blessings to play the role of a cute superhero. The senior actor also addressed these rumors at that time, reiterating that the meeting was really real, and Ranveer expressed his keen interest in donating the cape.
Mukesh Khanna, who recently returned to screen in his superhero avatar for a patriotic song, took his position about casting to social media. In a post on X (East Twitter), he wrote, “I have come to clarify a misunderstanding, which has been started through this song and press conference of my audience, I came to declare the world that I will become the next peak. Fotter wrong. Explain to me.”
He continued, “Why should I first say that I will become the next Shikhan. I am already Shaktimaan. Only one more shaktimaan will be when a shaktimaan is. And I am Shaktimaan. Without me, other shaktimaan cannot be shaktimaan. Who will wear Shakra’s mantra.
