New Delhi: Actor Hrithik Roshan’s latest release War 2, despite being one of the most awaited films of the year, did not perform well at the box office.
Now, the actor has finally reacted for the first time on the poor performance of the film.
Although the film emerged as the third highest-grossing film of the year, it was declared a box office failure as it failed to recover its heavy production costs.

Hrithik trolled on the failure of War 2
Hrithik recently attended a launch event at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. While interacting with the host after being welcomed on stage, the actor took a dig at his own film. War 2 released in theaters on 14 August.
The host said, “It feels amazing to share the stage with such a big global icon. We were already discussing how many years it’s been since we’ve seen you on screen. Oh, what a moment this is, guys. A big round of applause for the superstar.”
As the audience cheered, Hrithik replied, “That’s very kind of you… You know, my film failed at the box office, so it feels great to get everyone’s love. Thank you.”
Earlier, Hrithik had elaborated on the process of playing Kabir in the action thriller on Instagram. Sharing some BTS pictures from the shoot, the actor wrote a long emotional note.
Hrithik wrote, “Playing Kabir was a lot of fun. Very comfortable, knowing him well. It was going to be easy. Finally a film that I could do like many others – keep it simple, play the role of an actor, do my work and come home. And it was exactly like that. My director Ayaan took very good care of me. It was a joy to see his energy on the set.”
He added, “Everything seemed so perfect. As it was supposed to be. A sure shot. No worries, just needed to do my job correctly – which of course I did. But there was something hidden behind that arrogant certainty. A voice I was shrugging off… ‘It’s so easy… I know it so well.’ And another said, ‘I deserve it.’ Not every film should be a constant search for torture, trauma, and the truth of the moment. Just rest.”

War 2 was one of the most awaited releases of the year, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The film released in theaters over the Independence Day weekend but received mixed reviews and did not meet box office expectations.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is the sixth installment of the YRF spy universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathan and Tiger 3. Apart from Hrithik and Jr NTR, the film also stars Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani in lead roles.
