We explore the vibrant tunes that are close to the singers and composers, as they reveal their favorite Garba and Navratri songs and the personal stories behind their choices. Here is a deco:
1. Anu Malik
I am really sad that I am missing Navratri as I am in London, but I will watch the action in the last three days. I studied in a Gujarati school and had many Gujarati friends, I love their culture. The dance during this period is beautiful. I like the song Dholi Da very much and also Chogada. They are both very attractive and their rhythm is amazing. Udi Udi Jaaye Bhi is always in my playlist. I love Falguni Pathak, she is a queen, she works all year round for this special month.
2. Palak Muchhal
My recommendation for Navratri playlist would be Pari Hoon Main, officially sung by Sunita Rao. This is my favorite song, I love dancing to that song. I also like Falguni Pathak ji’s version. The second one will be Dholida, which is my own song. It has all the elements of a festival and is very energetic. I also like drums and drums along with drums. These are very traditionally rooted and OG dandiya songs. Anyone can dance to those tunes and music.
3. Monali Thakur
I would definitely recommend Hello Hello. Even though I am a Bengali, I feel like doing Garba from my heart after listening to this song, and it will make anyone else do it. Also, I have seen many people doing Garba in it, even professional dancers. This is in my Navratri playlist and it should be in everyone’s playlist, it’s my top recommendation. Whatever the track is, it should be peppy enough to groove to during the festive season.

4. Ankit Tiwari
Navratri is a very special time of the year for me. I celebrate it by spending time with family, attending traditional Garba and Dandiya nights with friends, and participating in cultural and religious rituals. I love the energy, music and devotion that prevails in the atmosphere during this festival. For Navratri, my playlist is all about high-energy Garba and Dandiya tracks! Songs like Dholida and Nagada Sang Dhol always set the mood. I also like traditional Gujarati folk songs mixed with some Bollywood beats like Chogada.
5. Rahul Vaidya
I have sung many Navratri tracks, but it is not just my songs, I like many other songs which are composed by some beautiful artists. My favorite choice would be Garbe Ki Raat, Chogra and some Gujarati songs like Ranglo, Sanedo and Dakla. During this time, I love singing, listening to Gujarati songs and also dancing on them.
6. Aastha Gill
Navratri and Garba are nights of energy, celebration and dancing with all your heart. My favorite songs for these festive moods always have that right beat and tempo that automatically makes your body move. My top picks are Saawariya, Dholida (Gangubai Kathiawad), Nagada Sang Dhol, Tattad Tattad and Chogada. These songs capture the festive spirit!
7. Daler Mehndi
There are three bhajans which are very close to my heart, which include Maa Da Darbar, Nee Maye Lute Gaye and Aajo Jin Par Langana. They are all about special offerings to the divine feminine. He has the purest words and will always be in my Navratri playlist. Ram Ji Ki Nikli Sawaari is also a track which I like to listen to and dance to those tunes. It is a time to remember and celebrate all the old songs and hymns. Happy Navratri everyone!
