NCT member Taeil has been officially removed from SM Entertainment following allegations of sexual misconduct. The decision comes after a recent scandal involving the K-pop group. The move has sparked strong reactions from fans, who are expressing their anger and disappointment by destroying merchandise and burning photocards.
The news of Taeil being kicked out has also made people wonder what’s going on with his alleged club stuff, which everyone is talking about a lot on social media. In response to the allegations, all of Taeil’s fellow NCT members have unfollowed him on social media, with even Taeyong deleting all his photos with him.
NCT Taeil officially dropped from SM Entertainment
SM Entertainment told the Associated Press that they are removing NCT member Taeil from the band after some serious sexual misconduct allegations surfaced on August 28. They also said that all activities of the group have been put on hold for the time being. The company explained that due to the severity of the allegations, they had to end Taeil’s association with the group.
On the other hand, the police clarified that the investigation is not related to sexual crimes involving minors of the same gender, but no detailed information was given in this regard at this time.
Releasing a statement, SM Ent wrote, “We recently confirmed that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case involving sexual offenses.”

We have discussed the matter with Taeil and it has been decided that he will be removed from the group,” the agency added. “Currently, Taeil is cooperating faithfully with the police investigation. We will share additional statements as the investigation progresses.”
“We deeply apologize for the controversy our artist caused.”
Fans burn photo cards, destroy items in protest
Taeil, who used to be a big name in the K-pop world as part of NCT, is experiencing a dramatic drop in popularity following allegations of abuse. Fans have without hesitation removed his concert passes, photocards and merchandise from their collections. Photos of burning photo cards and other items have circulated online.
As a member of the NCT subgroup NCT 127, Taeil was part of the original lineup of seven members consisting of Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, and Haechan. Several fan accounts dedicated to Taeil have been shut down, expressing their disappointment and offering support to the victims.

Taeil’s past club activities in the spotlight
If this scandal wasn’t bad enough, things got even worse when a photo surfaced on social media that allegedly showed Taeil at a club while he was recovering from an injury in March 2024. Fans were really upset to see that he was having a good time while others were struggling with his absence.
However, some fans stood up for Taeil, thinking that the photo might have been taken before he got injured in July 2023. On March 30, 2024, someone on X (used to be Twitter) posted a photo of a guy who looked like Taeil, saying he was at a club. The post mentioned Taeil’s Instagram, but there was no concrete proof that it was actually him.
