New Delhi:

Neena Gupta, who moved to Mumbai from Delhi in the 1980s, recently talked about living life in the city. The actress shared that she never rented the house but opted to sell and upgrade. During one such transitional phase, she had to stay with her uncle and aunt, but was soon asked to leave in the middle of the night, leaving Neena and her daughter Masaba homeless.

In conversation on YouTube channel housing.comNeena told that she had reserved a three-bedroom apartment in a builder’s project. Her financial situation became momentarily strained as she had sold her existing house and used the proceeds to buy a new house. During this time he had to live with his aunt and uncle.

The actress said, “I went to my aunt’s house, where I used to live earlier. I thought that I stayed there for so long and I just came back to my house to sleep. Since Masaba was young then, my aunt helped me. She used to take care of the child. But one day, she threw me out in the middle of the night, I had no money left, there was a night when I had no place to go with the child.”

However, Neena’s uncle offered her a vacant apartment in Juhu, which had been vacant for 20 years. However, later he was also asked to leave the residence.

She said, “Before shifting with them, I had already told both of them that I am now going to live without a home, so do you agree to live with me? They then said yes. Now, my uncle Felt very bad so they took me to my in-laws house in Juhu, which was closed for 20 years, the house was covered with spider webs, I went there and I cleaned that house with a small child to leave it. Said house also.”

Neena Gupta explained her circumstances to the builder and asked for a refund as she had nowhere else to go. Thankfully, the builder refunded her the entire money, enabling Neena to buy a house in Aaram Nagar.
