Nepal Crackdown: General Z protests between Koli Postpone Naple, planned violence

Mumbai: Actor Prajakta Koli raised its support to families in Nepal amidst ongoing protests in the nation, as the government had banned major social media platforms citing tax revenue and cyber security concerns.

The actress also revealed that she has postponed her plans to go to Nepal due to protests.

Taking on her Instagram handle, the ‘mismatch’ actress expressed grief over the loss of life in Nepal amidst General Z protests in India’s neighboring nation.

Taking his Instagram handle, Prajakta Koli wrote to an emotional note saying, “What happened in Nepal yesterday is really shocking. At such a time any form of celebration seems inappropriate. My heart leaves for those families.

Actress Manisha Koirala, whose grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was The first Prime Minister of Nepal, Violence in the country also strongly condemned.

Manisha, who was born in Nepal, posted a serious glimpse from the protests with a picture of a blood -soaked shoe.

Speaking against the conflict between the protesters and the police, the actor called it a “black day”.

He further urged the media to focus on the fact that the protests were, in fact, against corruption and there was no ban on social media sites.

“Today is a black day for Nepal – when the bullets react to the voice of the people, demand resentment and justice against corruption,” he wrote on Instagram.

Manisha Koirala is sharing updates about protests in Nepal, which is the purpose of spreading awareness.

On September 8, 2025, including Pokhara, Batwal and Birganj in Kathmandu and other major cities, the government began protests, citing tax revenue and cyber security concerns, after the government banned major social media platforms.

The protesters are demanding to end the bias in institutional corruption and governance.

They want the government to be more accountable and transparent in its decision -making processes.

The protesters are also demanding the disposal of the ban on social media platforms, which they see as an attempt to suppress the free speech.

On Monday, the police used fatal forces against the protesters, in which at least 19 persons were killed and more than 200 injured in Kathmandu and nearby towns.

Late last night, the government returned the ban on several social media sites. Since then, the Prime Minister of the country, KP Sharma Oli, presented his resignation, which was accepted by President Ram Chandra Podel.
