Netflix buys Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s ‘R.I.P.’

We previously reported that Hollywood stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are reuniting for an upcoming crime-thriller Tear outWhich will be directed by Joe Carnahan. Now, the latest news is that streaming giant Netflix has acquired the film from Damon and Affleck’s production company Artists Equity.

The upcoming crime thriller, written by Carnahan, is set to begin shooting this fall. Specific plot details are currently under wraps.

In November 2022, Damon and Affleck launched Artists Equity, which quickly made a name for itself with successful releases. Their first film, Airdebuted in the spring of 2023 to critical acclaim and impressive box office returns. Subsequently, the studio produced the documentary The greatest love story never told for Amazon MGM Studios and Feature Such little thingswhich premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and won Emily Watson the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Actress.

Tear out It was a quick meeting for Damon and Affleck, who were eager for a new project as Affleck finished production on the film. Accountant 2The two had initially planned to work on another crime thriller, AnimalsBut scheduling conflicts postponed that venture, clearing the way for Tear out. Meanwhile, Carnahan is known for his work Narc And Smokin Aces.
