Actress Neve Campbell has announced that she is returning as Sidney Prescott in the seventh installment of ‘Scream’. deadlinePart seven will see Campbell’s Sidney face off against Ghostface again.
“We’re going to be following Sidney again,” Campbell said. “They told me the concept, and that’s why I got involved,” she said. The actress shared that she hasn’t received the final script for the new film, but she hopes to receive it soon.
“I love these movies, they’re so much fun to be a part of, I’m so grateful for them, I never thought I’d be a part of a movie that would last for so many decades,” she said.

‘Scream VII’ will be directed by Kevin Williamson; Campbell appeared in the first five films in the ‘Scream’ franchise before stepping down for ‘Scream VI’.
She said, “I don’t think what I was being offered was equal to the value that I bring to this franchise, and have brought to this franchise for 25 years.” Earlier, Williamson had advocated for Campbell’s return to the brand and said she should be compensated accordingly.

In November 2023, producers fired new lead star Melissa Barrera for anti-Semitic social media statements, despite Campbell’s efforts to distance themselves from her. Barrera’s co-star Jenna Ortega stepped out of ‘Scream VII’, leaving the franchise in uncertainty. Currently, Campbell is the only star confirmed for ‘Scream VII’ as the franchise begins a new era.
