Los Angeles:

Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren will appear in The Last Five Years on Broadway in the spring of 2025. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the revival of the musical, which features a score and book by Jason Robert Brown, will be directed by Whitney White, a Tony Award nominee for JaJa’s African hair braiding.

While The Last Five Years premiered in 2001, had performances Off-Broadway in 2002 and 2013 and also had a film adaptation, this will be the first time the musical play will appear on Broadway.

Theaters and exact dates have not been announced yet.

The Last Five Years is the story of two New Yorkers, aspiring writer Jamie and aspiring actress Kathy, as they describe the ups and downs of their romantic relationship over the past five years, starting on opposite sides of the timeline.

On bringing Nick and Adrienne together, Brown said, “I always felt that when the time was right, The Last Five Years would make its way to Broadway. To see Nick and Adrienne in these roles is a composer’s dream come true, and Whitney’s extraordinary guidance and vision is what every playwright hopes for. It’s taken twenty-five years, but now is the right time.”

In addition to his career with the Jonas Brothers, Jonas has also appeared on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, where he replaced Daniel Radcliffe in 2012. He also performed on Broadway as a child, where he appeared in Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, and Annie Get Your Gun. The Jonas Brothers have launched a new tour in 2023, which includes stops on Broadway, and will continue through 2024.
