Nicki Minaj arrested? Find out what happened (as told by the rapper herself)

In one video, a man approaches Nicki and claims that her bag should be checked. When she insists that it was all a ploy to make her miss her show in Manchester, Minaj is arrested for allegedly carrying “pre-rolls” in her bag. She is told that all of her luggage should be taken off the plane and searched.

The Night Is Still Young rapper said on her Instagram Live that she was asked to get into a police van “and taken to the police station with no lawyer present.” Though it was initially unclear what officers were looking for, Minaj’s minute-by-minute updates on X/Twitter mentioned marijuana as she hinted in one of her tweets that marijuana is legal in Amsterdam.

She later said on X/Twitter, “They took my luggage and when I asked where it was they said it was on the plane. It couldn’t have been there, I just happened to be there.”

After sharing a video of her interaction with a member of the airline crew and explaining the reasons that prompted the sudden scrutiny on X, Nicki began her online attack with the tweet, “They are doing everything they can to stop this tour.”

She also posted the video on Instagram and wrote in the caption: “They’re trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bag before I could even meet them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting at customs. This is what happens when people get paid big bucks to ruin a tour after everything else has failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”

In the video, the man claims that a “police officer told him” that they “have to take off all the luggage and search everything.” Filming the entire incident, Nikki asks, “But didn’t you plan to do this from the beginning? Why didn’t you search it before boarding the plane?”

He then explained that when a “random quick check” was done, they wanted to reopen it. When Nicki asked him further why that was, he said, “First of all, because you filmed that… [and] … He doesn’t believe you that there’s anything more to it than what you’re saying.”

Another tweet followed soon after: “They’re being paid a lot of money to make my tour fail because a lot of people are pissed that it’s so successful and they can’t get a bite out of me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jet. They got fired. They got pissed. Etc.”

She eventually even suggested that certain items were allegedly “planted” in her luggage to drag her down. Elaborating on why they were delaying her, Nicki later wrote, “They try to force me to book another jet every time. That’s because I fired the manager who I found out was adding 30-50K to my jet and pocketing it. I recently fired a tour manager who was doing the same thing and he got fired. Their goal is to make me late and pocket the 40K.”

After objections to his Instagram footage reportedly mounted, he eventually claimed that the “pre-rolls” found in the bags belonged to his security personnel: “Now they said they found marijuana and another group of people had to come in here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without my consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls are theirs. Oh yeah and the pilot wants me to take down my IG post.”

Nikki started blogging about this situation X hours before her flight was due to take off. The original Instagram story was uploaded just four hours ago.

His fans are undoubtedly left shaken and confused as they await further updates from their beloved star. #FREENICKI also began trending on the social media platform as many expressed their concerns over the rapper’s safety. At the time of writing, his last tweet appeared two hours ago on X/Twitter, in which he wrote: “Now they said I have to go to the police station 5 minutes away to make a statement about my safety.”
