Los Angeles: The star told The New Yorker: “These are all different experiences. Everybody has a different mother. When I fell in love or got married, I never thought this would happen – that I would have three different children from three different mothers – but yet, that’s what happened.”
Cage said: “So every child is different. Attention levels are also different.”
The actor shares Weston with his former partner Christina Fulton, Kal-El with his third wife Alice Kim, and August with his fifth wife Riko Shibata.
Cage explained that he worries about his “very sweet” 22-month-old daughter, adding, “So it’s just a matter of different levels of concern and protection and taking it extremely seriously.”
He also said that being a father is an integral part of his personality, reports people.com.
He said, “Being a father – for me, it’s not an art, it’s… how do I say this? It’s like breathing. Everything is about him. You know, I may or may not make a movie. I can’t stop being a father. With him, it’s life. It’s my existence.”
The actor welcomed his eldest son, Weston, with his girlfriend Fulton in December 1990.
In an interview in 2015, Cage called Weston a “complete artist.”
“He can do all the things I dream about… composing music, singing, acting, sculpting and cooking, and now he is also a loving father,” he added.
“Watching my son with my grandson is the most joyful feeling I’ve ever had.”
