Cameron Van Hoy is set to direct King, Reports of a new feature film written by Pulitzer Prize winner and Oscar nominee David Mamet deadline. Scott Hays Old Henry will play the lead role in the project while other actors in the film include Nicolas Cage, JK Simmons, Giancarlo Esposito and Andy Garcia.
The official description of the film reads, “The film follows an addict’s tumultuous journey through a high-stakes world of power, pleasure, and pain while on a transformative journey toward recovery.” Reports say that the lead character, who will be played by Scott Haze, is partly inspired by US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, whose drug and alcohol abuse has been well-documented.
“These people who voice of freedomThey came to me and they said, ‘Do you want to write a movie for us?’ I said, ‘Yeah sure, what do you have?’” Mamet shared. “They said they wanted to make a movie about Hunter Biden,” Mamet told podcaster Andrew Klavan in an interview. Mamet added that the protagonist would not be named Hunter Biden and that the film would not be “a travelogue.”

Sean Wolfington is producing the film alongside Hayes, Van Hoy, Joe Henriquez and Liz Sarkey. John Devaney, CJ Kirvan and Jose Luiz Zapata will executive produce.
