Nicole Kidman is gearing up for the release of her upcoming erotic drama Babygirl, and here’s how the internet reacts to scenes from the film.
Nicole Kidman has played the most challenging role of her career in Babygirl. The actor has been receiving a lot of attention this awards season for her performance in the erotic drama, and she was even declared Best Actress at the National Board of Review Awards. But if there’s anything that might upset Nicole about the film, it would be the memes that will emerge after it’s released in theaters during Christmas later this month. What did Nicole say?
during a new Interview Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, when Nicole was asked if she considered it a compliment when she was mentioned, she said: “Of course. You have to let go and be able to make fun of yourself. It’s a very Australian characteristic, but I think it’s a necessary characteristic of life. I know who I am. I try to focus deeply on my authentic self and stay with that. Everything else is out of my control. But let’s wait and see what happens [memes from] Baby girl. The actor recently lost his mother Janelle Ann Kidman. In the interview, the actor also spoke about his regret that his mother had passed away before he could see her in the film. “She was always the smartest person in the room. She will challenge you on all your ideas or your work. I’m sad he didn’t get a chance to see Babygirl. He had a tremendous amount of knowledge and humor, very irreverent. She could see everything. And she always told me that I always looked at the world through rose-colored glasses,” she said.
In September, Nicole was declared the winner of the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the closing ceremony of the Venice Film Festival by jury president Isabelle Huppert. There, director Halina Reason took the stage, and read a statement on Nicole’s behalf: “Today, I arrived in Venice to learn that my brave and beautiful mother, Janelle Anne Kidman, had passed away. I am shocked and I have to go to my family, but this award is for him.
In Babygirl, Nicole plays a successful businesswoman who leads a comfortable personal life with her husband, played by Antonio Banderas. Trouble arises when a new intern, Harris Dickinson, joins his company and he begins an affair with her. The film will be released in US theaters on December 25 by A24.
