Mumbai: Veteran actress Nina Gupta has talked about the development of her character Manju Devi in ”Panchayat” and said that through the series, she is happy that she can show that if women want to charge and lead, they can do it completely.
Nina said: “My growth with the panchayat actually began in season 1, especially during the flag hoisting scene- it was the turn of Manju Devi. In most villages, women often recover with some things to know or learn, but what I loved about my character was that she decided to break the pattern.”
“She gradually became more firm, more curious and ultimately more independent. And such a change is not overnight – in real life, this is a slow process.” He said that the concept of Prime Minister is still present in many parts of the country.
Nina said: “Through this series, I am glad that we can show that if women want to take charge and lead, they can do it completely.”
Sunita Rajwar, who played the role of Kranti Dev, said that essay to the character has always been an attractive experience for her. “I was attracted to her character how she is not a single standing next to her husband, but as a uniform. She is not just a housewife from a village – she thinks and reacts like any strong woman, no matter what a difference.”
That strength and equality in her relationship actually stood out for Sunita. “I really liked to adopt his side. And when you get closer to such a character, you start getting related to them in your life, at the end of the day, we are all human – we all take a little innocence within us.”
He said: “It’s not only the audience who connects with the character; the actor also does. I feel really happy and grateful to play him.”
The fourth installment of the series includes Jitendra Kumar, Nina Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvik, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar and Pankaj Jha.
