Multiple award-winning actress Nithya Menen has added another feather to her crown, and this is undoubtedly her biggest achievement so far. The actress, who has worked in all the South Indian film industries as well as Bollywood and English films, recently won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Dilwale’. When asked about her big win, Nithya said, “I think I was a bit in disbelief when I heard the news.” “I was busy with some work at home and was about to have lunch when Dhanush (her co-star in the film ‘Dabangg 3’) called me. It is actually a choice. Can I do other roles? Of course, I can. But I don’t want to do that,” says Nithya, who adds that “doing happy roles makes her happy.”

Nitya laughs when asked about her celebratory plans. “I don’t know if it’s good or bad that I don’t celebrate anything. I will probably treat myself to a movie (Laughs) I’m in the middle of developing my next film and I’m totally immersed in the moment. You have to work to get the awards, right?”
The actress who was last seen in Tamil in the same film for which she won the National Award has done films like Kadhalikka Neramillai with Jayam Ravi and director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, anddear ex boyfriendIn the pipeline is debut director Kamini and co-stars Vinay Rai, Navdeep, Prateik Babbar and Deepak Parambol. “I also have a film with Vijay Sethupathi and it will not just be a romantic film but something that will break genres. It is something I am very much looking forward to,” says Nithya.
