‘Nonsense’ family rift: Angelina Jolie’s dad sends 3-word message to Brad Pitt after Pax’s e-bike accident

Angelina Jolie’s 85-year-old father Jon Voight, himself an Oscar-winning actor, recently spoke out about the impact his wife and Brad Pitt’s divorce has had on his children’s lives.

Although he had a lot to say about it, the essence of his advice was summed up in his firm three words to the F1 star: “Stop this nonsense.” Jolie’s father has obviously had to endure a lot. His words may seem blunt, but he probably did it all in good faith, with his children in mind.

The divorced couple, who have been embroiled in a nearly eight-year-long legal battle over their $164,000 French winery, were recently rocked by a new heartbreaking news in the family: Their 21-year-old son Pax suffered a head injury in an accident while riding an e-bike without a helmet in Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie’s father wants her and Brad Pitt to “make peace” for the sake of the kids

Possibly with the memory of his grandson’s near-fatal accident still fresh in the mind, Voight told Fox News Digital, “I wish they would find a way to make peace.” Despite being on different sides of the conversation, both Jolie’s father and Brad have one thing in common – they don’t talk to the kids as much as they would like. Voight also isn’t exactly ready to have a conversation with Jolie as the father-daughter duo are said to have had a tumultuous relationship over the past few years.

Positive about the much-needed resolution in the Jolie-Pitt family, the Reign star said, “You know, I think the kids need some stability. I love kids, and I love my daughter. And I want Brad to step up and do what he needs to do. End this nonsense.”

Brad, 60, and Angelina, 49, married in 2014 but eventually split in 2016 after Jolie accused him of physical abuse. Since then, their messy divorce has gotten even messier, with even more rift-creating clauses being added to the dispute. In addition to their never-ending battle over the French estate Chateau Miraval, the former couple is still fighting bitterly over custody of their children. The relationship between them has gotten even worse since several of the children have decided to drop their father’s surname from their names.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce

Whatever the issue, all of Jolie and Pitt’s problems appear to be connected to a well-publicized 2016 incident in which the Moneyball star allegedly behaved violently toward his then-wife and children during a private jet trip.

According to an April report by USA Today, “Although Pitt’s history of physical abuse toward Jolie began well before the family’s September 2016 flight from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he physically abused the children. Jolie left him immediately thereafter,” an excerpt from a court filing by Jolie’s attorneys said.

Page Six also reported that the Fight Club actor was allegedly drunk, according to records from 2016. He went to the bathroom and “grabbed her head and shook it” during an argument over the kids.

In 2017, Pitt addressed the issue in a GQ Style interview, saying his alcohol problems contributed to the end of his marriage.

In a far-fetched response to Voight’s recent message, an insider told People magazine in July, “All the bitterness is partly the reason the divorce has dragged on for so many years. Nobody is going to let it go.” Speaking further on how unrequited the pair, who first began dating in 2005, are, the source added, “You would think they would forget it and just make up.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have six children, Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16).

Contrary to other reports, a friend of Pitt told the New York Post in April that the allegations against the actor are “misleading, inaccurate and/or irrelevant information” that is being added “to distract attention.”
