jaideep ahlawat latest movie Maharaj is hitting all the right notes. In the Netflix film, the actor is playing the villain Jadunath Maharaj. But did you know that Jaideep was not the first choice for the role? Director Siddharth P Malhotra himself revealed in a press conference that not Jaideep, but Irrfan Khan was the first choice for the character. “May his soul rest in peace. In our opinion, no one other than Irrfan Khan could have played this role,” he said. News 18Siddharth also revealed that there was a lot of pressure on Jaideep. The director kept reminding the actor that only he could match Irrfan’s level of performance.
Irrfan Khan died in the year 2020 at the age of 53.
Siddharth P Malhotra said that Jaideep Ahlawat is one of the best actors in the country right now. He also revealed that Jaideep was not confident about playing the role. “He wasn’t sure how he would play the role,” the filmmaker said.
Apart from Jaideep Ahlawat’s brilliant acting, his dramatic physical transformation has impressed us all. The actor lost over 26 kgs for his role. Shedding light on his journey, Jaideep shared a before and after picture on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “From 109.7 kgs to 83 kgs in 5 months. This is the physical transformation for the role MaharajExpressing his gratitude towards his fitness coach, Jaideep said, “Thank you Prajwal Sir for believing in me.”
About Jaideep Ahlawat’s acting Maharaj, Saibal Chatterjee wrote in a review for NDTV: “Jaideep Ahlawat leaves his mark on everything and everyone in the film, with a restrained performance that conveys the creepy menace. He never raises his voice and maintains an almost blissful expression, broken only by wry smiles, crooked smirks and omniscient grins, all hallmarks of a man who thinks he’s a god and wants his people to overlook his dark exploits.”
Maharaj This is the acting debut of Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan. Sharvari Wagh and Shalini Pandey are also seen in this Netflix film.
