Oasis bans Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing
Oasis will not be part of Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing, a process where ticket sellers adjust ticket prices in real time according to demand. “Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model will not be applied to upcoming sales of Oasis concert tickets in North America,” a statement released on Monday said. It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket brokering and keep prices below market rate and thus more affordable for a significant portion of fans.
He added, “But when unprecedented ticket demand is combined with technology that can’t keep up with that demand, it becomes less effective and could lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.”
In addition, fans will also have to fill out a short questionnaire to access pre-sale tickets for the North American tour in order to keep it “fair and fan-centric”. Fans must answer how many Oasis concerts they have attended and the questionnaire must indicate when the band last performed on stage in North America.
