Other stars including Sunil Shetty, Siddharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty also congratulated Manu Bhaker for her historic victory.

At just 22, Bhaker shot 221.7 to finish third, becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal.

Her performance not only marks a personal victory but also gives India its first medal at the ongoing Games.

Bhaker’s journey to this medal has been one of redemption. After a disappointing experience at the Tokyo Olympics, where a faulty pistol ruined her chances, Bhaker has now cemented her place in Olympic history.

Her achievement is particularly significant as she is the first Indian woman to reach an individual shooting final in two decades, with Suma Shirur last achieving the feat in 2004.

In the final of the women’s 10m air pistol event, South Korea’s Ye Jin won the gold medal by setting a new Olympic record with 243.2 points, while her compatriot Kim Yeji won the silver medal with 241.3 points.

On the first day of competition, Bhaker secured her place in the final by finishing third in the qualification round, while another Indian shooter Rhythm Sangwan could not make it past the qualifiers and finished 15th.

Bhaker’s historic win has received widespread praise and appreciation from the film fraternity and beyond, highlighting her remarkable perseverance and skill on the global stage.
