Apple TV+ released the trailer for the upcoming second season today. PachinkoThe award-winning and globally acclaimed sweepstakes drama series from creator/executive producer Sue Hugh. In media res, and told in three languages – Korean, Japanese and English – the eight-episode second season Pachinko It will premiere globally with a single episode on Friday, August 23, followed by an episode every Friday until October 11.
The trailer features a new cover of Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” by global superstar Rosé of the record-breaking K-pop group Blackpink. In addition to debuting as the series’ trailer anthem, Rosé’s cover is also featured in Pachinko Season two finale.

In the second season, parallel stories unfold in Osaka in 1945, where Sunja is forced to make dangerous decisions for her family’s survival during World War II, and Tokyo in 1989, where Solomon searches for new, humble beginnings.
The first season received 11 international awards including the Peabody Award, the American Film Institute Award, the Critics’ Choice Award, and the Gotham Independent Film Award. The second season stars Lee Minho, Yuh-jung Youn, Minha Kim, Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Eunche Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim.
Produced by Studio Media Res for Apple TV+, Pachinko It is created and written by Sue Hugh who serves as executive producer. The series is executive produced by Michael Ellenberg and Lindsay Springer for Media Res and Theresa Kang for Blue Marble Pictures. Season two is directed by Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Sang-il Lee.
