Although words are often used in mutual, Panchamirit and Charanmarit differ slightly in the objective and tradition:

Panchamrit:

1. Made from five major materials – milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar.

2. Purity is a symbol of prosperity and divine blessings.

3. The deity (Abhishekam) was mainly designed to bathe during worship, and later introduced as Prasad.

Charanmirat:

1. Usually after the consecration of the deity, using the same punchmarit, sometimes with paired basil leaves, cardamom or dried fruits.

2. Known as the “nectar of the feet of the Lord” because it is sacred during worship.

3. During rituals, the devotees were consumed after touching the feet of the deity.

In short: Panchamirat is offered, Charanamrit is blessing.
