Paris Jackson responds to petition against partial seizure of father Michael Jackson’s estate: ‘Will continue…’

Paris Jackson’s fight against the executors handling her father’s estate was hit by a court order ruling that she was responsible for paying a portion of the estate’s attorneys’ fees, People The magazine reported. Los Angeles referee Michelle L. Beckloff, a retired judge, partially rejected Jackson’s petition. He ruled in favor of executors John Branca and John McClain in relation to certain claims made by Paris on the estate of the late pop legend Michael Jackson.

Paris Jackson’s case against Michael Jackson’s estate

according to Entertainment WeeklyParis Jackson was accused by her father’s estate of paying lawyers “on account”, meaning the layers were paid before receiving formal court approval for it. His petition requested the court to reconsider its 2010 order allowing executors of the estate to do so.

According to People, the petition filed by Paris seeks to force the executors to “file a petition for orders permitting or authorizing the payment of attorneys’ compensation and reimbursement of costs for the years 2019 (through) 2023 within 90 days.”

In his filing, Paris accused the estate of operating with a lack of oversight and making irregular payments, which he said were non-contractual gifts of $250,000 and $125,000 for consulting.

There is no dispute over the alleged payment in the motion to block parts of the filing, the people said. It actually targeted Paris’ objections regarding the substance and timing of the estate’s filings before the probate court.

Although all of the 27-year-old’s petitions were not dismissed, referee Beckloff ruled that McClain and Branca “are entitled to an award of attorneys’ fees.”

Paris Jackson’s statement on the court’s decision

The musician’s spokesperson told People, “This order is limited to minor procedural issues and does not change the facts: The pattern of behavior displayed by the executors and their attorneys raises significant red flags, and Paris will continue to work to ensure that her family is treated fairly. We will submit an updated filing shortly.”

There has been an ongoing legal dispute over Michael Jackson’s estate since the King of Pop died in 2009. At the time of his death, Jackson was $500 million in debt, some of which was in arrears. The executors argue in their filing that they have transformed Jackson’s estate into “a powerhouse and a force in the music business today.”

The estate is responsible for deciding cases accusing Jackson of sexual abuse.

court case time

The decision comes after the release of the teaser trailer of Michael Jackson’s musical biopic Michael. The trailer broke records, garnering over 116 million views in 24 hours.

Starring the pop legend’s nephew Jafar Jackson in the lead role, Michael will be released on April 24, 2026. The estate has faced criticism for supporting this project. Paris Jackson described the script as “dishonest” and “full of inaccuracies” after reading a draft, EW reported.
