Like many emotional artists of classical performance arts, Bharatanatyam dancer Natyishree BN, also realized that it would be a gentleman task just to pursue dance without correct financial support.
“It also takes a pinch to your pockets, if you don’t have the right support,” the dancer said on a call from her dance school, Siddhidati Natya Shell, which was installed on Kanakpura Road in 2020. Therefore, he followed the dance and despite it being a passion, also got a job to support his art financially.
Nawashree has performed as a dancer with various groups over the years and is now out as a single artist. This is not all, she also completes 25 years as a dancer, and is celebrating it with an evening of a special dance repetition – Natya Ranjini Mala.
The event says in the dancer, in addition to the remembrance of his journey in dance, his grandmother, Shanta. Swami is also a tribute. “It was her dream to be a dancer, but in those days, women were not encouraged to pursue dance. So she fulfilled her dreams through me and even paid my fees with my grandfather’s pension until I started earning and could not support my training,” she remembers.
Training year
Nawashree started his training under Ashok Kumar (artistic director of Ashok Kumar (Natanjali School of Dance in Bangalore). She was not only one of the youngest members of the dance school, but also performed extensively as part of the school dance artists. Currently, the Navysri Charles is undergoing training under the MA, who is the director of Adishta School, Bhanntyam, Bengaluru. “He specializes in teaching single artists, which I am now chasing,” shares the dancer, who also describes the dance as his first love. I am emotionally associated with the form. I have to transfer whatever the next generation has learned to the next generation. “

Navashree is trained in Bharatanatyam’s Kalakshatra and Wazuvur style, and says she will continue to balance her professional and creative journey to support my passion. She says, “Dance is something as long as I can be physically mobile.”
Nataya Ranjini MalaShe says, will be divided into two parts and start with a wreath, a Varanam will be included and concluded with a Tilana between others. Rohith Bhat Uppur (Vocal), Karthik R with Newahasri. Sathavalli (flute), Vinay Nagarajan M. (Mridangam) and Charles Ma (Nattuvangam) will be included.
