Mumbai: Pavitra Punia who is known for her fiery personality and no-nonsense attitude recently came into limelight for criticizing a netizen who accused her of converting to Islam and reconciling with her ex-boyfriend Ejaz Khan. Reconciliation was suggested. The Bigg Boss 14 fame actress gave a sharp reaction defending her faith and her choice, sparking a debate online.
Controversy arose when Pavitra shared pictures from her recent temple visit on Instagram. Dressed in a yellow salwar suit with a Banarasi dupatta and vermillion on her forehead, Pavitra looked radiant as she embraced her spiritual side. However, a troll reposted her picture and suggested that she give up her “satanic idol worship”, convert to Islam and reconcile with Ejaz Khan.
The person’s post included statements like, “So sad to hear that you didn’t marry our brother Ijaz. Look, he can’t marry you unless you convert to the rules of Islam. I invite you to Islam. The user claimed that Islam is the ultimate truth and highlighted its growing popularity around the world, especially among women.
Not one to remain silent, Pavitra clapped back with a forceful and apologetic reply. While sharing the troll’s comment on her Instagram stories, she wrote, “I will explode the bomb in the pitchwade only, your son, don’t teach me. Otherwise, I have a lot of time to understand better what ‘Sanatan Dharma’ is.”
His response, though blunt, underlined his pride in his Sanatana Dharma and his unwillingness to tolerate unsolicited advice or interference in his personal beliefs.
Pavitra recently made headlines when she called her ex-boyfriend Eijaz Khan narcissistic and revealed that he had refused to convert to marry her. Their breakup has been a topic of public interest, and his comments about not changing his faith have further fueled discussions.
Pavitra’s bold answer created a stir on the internet. While many commended him for standing up for his beliefs and standing up against unwarranted criticism, others felt that his response could have been more measured. As the debate continues online, Pavitra remains undeterred, and is proving once again that she is not afraid to call out trolls and put her point across.
