Los Angeles: After a stellar track record at the Cannes Film Festival, Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia has now become a part of the jury at the festival.
The Cannes Film Festival has put a powerful jury together for its 78th edition, which includes Halle Berry, Jeremy Strong and Payal Kapadia, reports ‘Variety’.
Mixing actors, filmmakers and writers, South Korean filmmaker Hong Sangso, Italian actress Alba Rohrvakar, French-Morocco author Leela Slimani, as well as congress director, documentaror and producer Ddo Hamadi, as well as a Mexican filmmaker and producer Carlos.
As announced earlier, Juliet will preside over Binoche Jury, who is successful to Gita Gervig who handed over Palame D’Or to Seen Baker’s ‘Anora’.
According to ‘Variety’, both strong and Kapadia were in Cannes in the competition last year. Strong presented Ali Abbasi’s ‘The Apprentice’, in which he acted as Roy Kohan, while Kapadia was with her story debut, with ‘All We Imagine az Light’, who won the Grand Prize.

Slimani is a famous book writer, who is bound to the world of the film through his books.
