Perry Farrell punches bandmate Dave Navarro during Jane’s Addiction show: Watch

Jane’s Addiction fought on stage at a Boston concert on Friday when lead singer Perry Farrell punched fellow bandmate Dave Navarro. In a video of the incident recorded by Farrell’s wife, Farrell sang angrily into the mic and then “body checked” Navarro. The concert was being held at the Leader Bank Pavilion music venue.

Got into an onstage brawl with Jane’s Addiction

As Farrell attacked Navarro, the guitarist tried to back away and put his arms across his chest to ward him off. But the lead singer started yelling at the guitarist. This enraged Farrell even more and he tried to strike Navarro, but ended up hitting the guitarist.

A crew member came backstage to restrain the angry singer, but this only made him more agitated and when he tried to free himself, two more crew members came to hold him down. Meanwhile, Navarro spoke to a security guard and then left the stage, as reported by Page Six.

On Instagram, AT shared that there was some “tension and animosity” between the members before the fight. She wrote, “Perry’s frustration grew as she felt, night after night, that the stage volume was too loud and her voice was being drowned out by the band’s volume. Perry suffered from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the front row started yelling at Perry that the band was planning to play too loud and they couldn’t hear her, Perry’s anger exploded.”

AT told about the events of the night

AT explained that it all started after the rock band performed their song Ocean, where it started before Pharrell was ready and counting off. He explained, “The stage volume was so loud at the time that Perry couldn’t hear the booms and vibrations of the instruments and by the end of the song, he wasn’t singing anymore, he was just screaming to be heard.”

The lead singer’s wife also revealed that the incident extended backstage, where bassist Eric Avery grabbed Perry by the head [punched] He defended Farrell, saying he had been a “mad animal” for the first 30 minutes after the fight but then he broke down and “kept crying and crying”.

She explained the reason for her husband’s behavior on Instagram, writing, “Perry’s frustration grew as he felt, night after night, that the stage volume was too loud and that his voice was being drowned out by the band’s volume.” AT added, “Perry suffered from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the front row began complaining to Perry that the band was planning to play too loud and they couldn’t hear him, Perry’s anger exploded.”
