Peter Jackson, Director of Lord of the Rings and Hobit Trillogies, is at the center of a line when the New Zealand Cafe is forced to close.
Peter Jackson, who is known to direct Lord of the Rings Trillies, is at the center of controversy in its original New Zealand, a popular cafe in the country said that it would be forced to close next year due to the filmmaker. Peter Jackson owns the property on which the cafe is standing and allegedly eliminated his lease as part of a comprehensive redevelopment plan.
Peter Jackson shut down the popular NZ Cafe
The AFP reported that Peter Jackson bought the property of the historic submarine barrack with partner Fran Walsh in 2023 on the Wellington Peninsula. At that time, the couple said that they wanted to restore the “natural beauty” of the region.
Chocolate Fish Cafe, which operates from historical property, said this week was reported that its famous landlords would eliminate the lease in January, calling it a “destructive blow”.
Cafe said in a statement on social media, “Despite our requests, we have not yet been given an opportunity to talk directly with Peter and Fran, and we are asking for that occasion,”
However, the Property branch of Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh’s Wingnet Group Wingnet PM said that since 2024, there was a “occupation discussion” with the owners of the cafe.
