Mumbai: Director Anurag Basu, who is waiting for the release of his upcoming film ‘Metro … In Dino’, has shared his memories of working with the late actor Irrfan and the late singer KK in ‘Life in a Metro’.
The director spoke with IANS before the release of IANS Metro … In Dino, and recalled working with IRRFAN, and said that he tried to celebrate a lot after introducing it to him during the statement. Anurag said that he is a very bad narrator, and the decisions of such an affected Irfan script.
Anurag told IANS, “I chased Irfan. When I told the story to IRRFAN, he thought that his role was not very emotional. I was a very bad narrator. I could not believe him that his role is really good. So, I called him Sutapa, and I assured him.
He further mentioned, “We were shooting in Juhu. Sutpa called me. The scene was halfway, he said, ‘Irfan is very happy’. I said to him, ‘He is not telling me. He is telling you?’ (Laughing) Oh.
He also shared his experience of working with KK, as he said that this music composer was Pritam, who wanted KK to sing a cult-classic song ‘Alvida’.
He said, “Pritam really wanted to sing ‘Alvida’ to KK. I remember he came from Pune. A lot of memories, very fond and pleasant memories”.
Earlier, Anurag shared that in his opinion the film is more than Pritam than him. The two are now working together for almost 20 years, marking another cooperation for them with ‘Metro … In Dino’.
He said, “‘Metro … in dino’ is more pre -premature than me. When you see the film as a whole, you will understand how important music for this film is. It is like a thread.
Asked how both of them make chartbuster music continuously, the director said, “This happens only. We have the same options as everything. Food, music to everything.
