Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) 2025 at the Jio World Convention Center today, called it a historical moment for the cultural and creative areas of India.
The four -day summit, “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries” is the themed, which is aimed at a global center for media, entertainment and digital innovation to India.
In his main speech, PM Modi addressed various audiences of artists, Innovators from over 90 countries, industry leaders and policy makers.

“… India, with more than one billion population, also has a billion-fluster stories and land of more than one billion storytellers,” he said
The Prime Minister said, “Every road, every river, every mountain, every mountain in India carries a story. In more than six lakh villages, everyone has a new story, a new view. In fact, India has a lot.”
Highlighting the depth of India’s cultural wealth, he said, “In India, even music is a form of spiritual practice.
He urged the International Creative Community to tap in the ability to tell the story of India, saying, “This is the right time to create” in India and create the world. ” As the world looks for stories, India is a treasure, rich in science, fiction, courage and imagination.
Waves 2025 are from India The first-different international summit dedicated to audio-visual and entertainment sectors.
It will bring together over 10,000 representatives, 1,000 creators, 300 companies and 350 startups, which will create a powerful cross-sectoral network. From film and OTT to AVGC-XR, Comics, AI and Broadcasting, the phenomenon incorporates media and the entire spectrum of emerging technologies.
An important attraction is the launch of the Global Media Dialogue (GMD), with a ministerial participation from 25 countries.
Waves Waves will also host the market, which is an international e-marketplace, featuring more than 6,100 buyers, 5,200 vendors and 2,100 projects, which facilitates cooperation in global trade and creative materials.
PM Modi has also been designed to visit Createosphere, where he will interact with the creators selected from the “Create in India” challenges, who attract more than 100,000 participants in the last one year.
Additionally, he will visit India’s creative heritage and innovation especially Curate Showcase Bharat Mandap.
The grand opening ceremony at Neeta Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) reflects the celebration of India’s artistic spirit.
The 50-Tukra orchestra led by Oscar winning composer MM Kerwani will provide a breathtaking music performance on 1 May.
Singer Shreya Ghoshal inaugurated Shikhar with a intimate welcome song.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a dramatic entry to welcome the representatives on the stage. Other major stars including Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were also present.
