Actress Pooja Hegde is currently busy shooting for the film ‘Suriya 44’ in the beautiful locales of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A source told IANS, “Pooja went to Andaman and Nicobar for shooting in early June and is expected to return in the first week of July. She will shoot a major part of the schedule there.”
The actress will be seen in the lead role in Surya’s film, which will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. It also stars actors like Jayaram, Joju George and Karunakaran in important roles.
“Pooja is playing the lead female character in the film who takes the story forward and she will also be seen in a very different look,” the source added. The film’s soundtrack has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who has scored music for films like ‘Pizza’, ‘Jigarthanda’, ‘Iruthi Suttru’, ‘Saala Khadoos’, ‘Iravee’, ‘Gulu Gulu’ and ‘Anveshipin Kandethum’.
She has also worked in the upcoming film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Apart from ‘Suriya 44’, Pooja will be seen in ‘Deeva’ opposite Shahid Kapoor and ‘Sanki’ opposite Ahan Shetty.
Apart from this, she has also signed a three-film contract with a major South production house. Pooja made her acting debut in 2012 in Mysskin’s Tamil superhero film ‘Mugamoodi’ opposite Jeeva. After this, she worked in the Telugu film ‘Oka Laila Kosam’.
In 2014, the 33-year-old actress made her Bollywood debut with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’, based on the Indus Valley Civilisation. In 2021, the actress was ranked seventh on Forbes India’s list of most influential stars on Instagram in South Cinema.
The actress was last seen in Salman Khan starrer ‘Kiski Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. It also stars Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and Palak Tiwari.
