Prabhas Birthday: ‘Fauji’ first look released – everything we know about the megastar’s next epic period drama with Hanu Raghavapudi

Prabhas Birthday: As pan-India superstar Prabhas turns 46, the makers of his much-awaited film have released the first official look of their upcoming project. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, this film has been named ‘Fauji’.

The teaser poster, released on Thursday, shows an intense close-up of Prabhas, his expression reflecting grit and determination. Set against the backdrop of 1940s British-India, the poster hints at the pre-independence backdrop and promises a story rooted in sacrifice and patriotism.

On his birthday, Prabhas confirmed the speculations surrounding the title of the film by officially unveiling ‘Fauji’ with its first-look poster. He captioned the post,
“Padmavyuha victorious Partha. Pandava Paksha established Karna. Guruvirihite Ekalavya. Janmanaivacha warrior Asha.”

(Translation: “Conqueror of the Padmavyuha, Arjuna stands unwaveringly with the Pandavas. Like Ekalavya, loyal to his guru, he is a warrior by birth – fearless and always hopeful in the heat of battle.”)

about the soldier

In this film, Prabhas is going to play the role of a brave soldier and revolutionary. Veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Jaya Prada will be seen in important roles, while newcomer Imanvi will play the lead role.

The film’s music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, with acclaimed cinematographer Sudip Chatterjee and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao as part of the technical crew.

Set in the 1940s, Fauji, a high-stakes action drama steeped in patriotic fervor, promises to be a visual spectacle. Shooting has begun in Madurai and other locations, featuring elaborate sets and authentic period designs.

Although the official release date has not been announced yet, the film is expected to release in 2026, possibly coinciding with Independence Day.

On the professional front, Prabhas was last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD and did a cameo in Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa, which featured Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal in special roles.

Next time, he will be seen in Baahubali: The Epic, a re-edited, remastered single-movie version of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), which will release on October 31. Next, he will star in Raja Saab, which will release on January 9, 2026.
