Actress Preeti Jhangiani has surfaced in support of her film “Udaipur files”, which ran into legal trouble a day before its release. Emphasizing the main message of the film, he clarified that it is not concentrated around religion, but a call for justice.
Jhangiani, who portrayed journalist Anjana Singh in the film, clarified, “Udaipur files are not about religion-this film only represents justice. It describes the events and crime of true-life; and when a heinous crime happens, justice should be given and given. The film emphasizes that the nation, then everything, then everything.”
The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a final-minute plea with the aim of preventing the release of “Udaipur files”, stating that there was no strong initial case to justify a migration. The court retained the right to free expression of filmmakers, especially since the film was already approved by the appropriate regulatory body. For Anward, the film was scheduled to release on July 11, but exactly a day earlier, its release was stopped due to a legal case.
On July 10, the Delhi High Court issued a stay order stopping the screening of the film. The case later reached the Supreme Court after Javed, an accused in the murder case shown in the film filed a petition against its release. Although several attempts were made to block the film, the Supreme Court refused to intervene, indicating that the film was already approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Eventually, the issue was taken to the Central Government, which approved the release, making the film a hit in theaters. “Udaipur files” is inspired by a real -life phenomenon that gave a shock to the nation.
The film is based on the tragic murder of Kanhaiya Lal in June 2022, who was attacked to post a message on social media supporting the then BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
His earlier comment about Prophet Muhammad triggered widespread unrest across the country. Produced by Amit Jani, the film hit theaters on 8 August today.
