New Delhi: In a heart-warming gesture, Priyanka Chopra took to social media to congratulate Angelina Jolie for her remarkable achievement at the Tony Awards, where the American actor-filmmaker’s production ‘The Outsiders’ won the prestigious award for Best Musical.
Priyanka shared a touching message on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, in which she congratulated not only Angelina but also her daughter Vivienne.
The “Citadel” star posted a photo from the event, which also features Angelina Jolie and Vivienne celebrating.
Along with the photo, Priyanka wrote, “Congratulations to this angel who deserves everything in life and more! Congratulations on winning the Tony Award for Best Musical for The Outsiders and winning multiple awards and 12 nominations! You are a force and I am inspired by you every day @angelinajolie. Congratulations Vivienne.”
‘The Outsiders’ is a compelling adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s beloved novel, which follows the dynamics of rival gangs in 1960s Oklahoma.
According to Deadline, Angelina Jolie served as a producer on the project, while Vivienne contributed as a producing assistant, marking a significant collaboration between mother and daughter in the field of theater.
At the Tony Awards ceremony, Angelina Jolie graced the event in a stunning teal gown which she paired with a matching shawl, while 15-year-old Vivienne dazzled in a coordinating outfit consisting of a white shirt, teal vest and pants.
Reflecting on Vivienne’s involvement, Jolie told Deadline, “She appreciates all kinds of theater, but she definitely knows what she feels close to and what she responds to. And then I had the privilege of watching everyone work last year to make it, and Vivienne was there all the way.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for her upcoming film ‘The Bluff’, which is directed by Frank E Flowers.
The film is set in the 19th century Caribbean and tells the story of a former female pirate, played by Priyanka, who has to protect her family when the sins of her past catch up with her. Produced by Russo Brothers’ banner AGBO Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, ‘The Bluff’ promises to be a thrilling adventure.
