While NCP-SP leader Jayant Patil asked to make it a tax-free, which is aimed at reaching more people with the history of social reforms, Mumbai Congress President and MP Varsha Gikawad wants school students to understand the struggle of such social reformers that enable girls to advance education in India.

Actor and filmmaker Anant Mahadevan directed the film FuleA biopic on the life of Jyotiro and Savitribai Phule released on 25 April. The film has already attracted criticism from the Brahmin community to show the community in bad light. The director defended that the film is not against the Brahmins, and its surroundings were “unnecessary”.
Mr. Patil on Friday asked Mr. Fadnavis to tax-free the film Fule This reflects the struggles of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule for equality and looks at the living history of the movement created for the upliftment of society. She shared the letter on X, mentioning, “Mahatma Phule and Savitrimai work is beyond opening water tanks for Dalits and promoting women’s education. The film has been opposed as much in the 21st century as the couple faced opposition for their work in the 19th century, resulting in about 12 scenes from the film.
He wrote, “To give everyone the right to give everyone the right to live as a human being, one should look at the couple’s struggle,” he wrote, the misunderstanding of the people will also be cleared.
Mumbai Congress President and MP Varsha Gaikwad demanded that the film be made tax-free in Maharashtra and screening in schools, especially girls across the state. Giving credit to the Phule couple for all her achievements, Ms. Gaikwad said, “Many women like me can educate themselves and work in the political field, because Phule’s initiative to educate women and the deprived sections of the society.” “We have a social responsibility towards them; The current generation must understand their struggle. It is possible through this film,” he has written to Mr. Fadnavis in a letter.
Meanwhile, Prakash Ambedkar, head of the famous Bahujan Aghdi (VBA), also raised his voice to make the film tax-free. “I demand that the film be released without any deduction and made tax-free in Maharashtra. VBA Full-Shahu-Ambedkarwadi follows ideology, and we will not tolerate this insult to Mahatma Phule and will not remain silent,” he posted on X a few weeks ago.
