Punjabi singer Manquart held at Delhi Airport to send a threat of extortion to Aulakh

Mohali: The Mohali police have arrested a person accused of sending a danger message to a person allegedly sending a danger message to the popular Punjabi singer of Delhi Airport.


Acting on a tip-off, the Mohali police caught the suspect at the Delhi Airport, as if she was to return to Italy on Sunday.

Mohali SP Sourav Jindal revealed that the investigation was initiated after the singer informed about receiving several dangers, which led to fast action from law enforcement agencies.

Speaking to ANI, SP Sourav Jindal said that the FIR has been filed under Section 308 (5) and 351 Indian Joint Code (BNS) in Thahan Matur.

“On August 21, the famous Punjabi singer Manquart Aulakh received the messages of danger through WhatsApp. In view of the seriousness of the matter, immediate directions were given by our SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans, and it was registered in FIR number 149, Than Matur under Section 308 (5) and 351 BN.

Sourav Jindal further said that several investigative teams investigated the case “scientific and technical”.

“The teams conducted a very scientific and technical investigation into the case. On August 24, we got a lead and accused, Ravinder Singh, living in Italy for the last 10-15 years,” said SP Sourav Jindal.

The accused allegedly sent a danger messages to Manquart Aulakh’s phone from his Italian number.

He said, “He sent Manikirat Aulakh a danger message to his phone from his number in Italy, and he had been in India for the last 1.5 months. We conducted a high technical and scientific inquiry, due to which he was identified. And when we identified him, he immediately tried to escape from Italy.”

The alleged accused was arrested at Delhi Airport on Sunday. Currently, he is under police remand.

According to preliminary investigation, SP Jindal said that the main objective was to “take out” money from the Punjabi singer.

“So, we arrested him at Delhi Airport on 24th. Currently, he is under remand for 2 days. In the initial investigation, he said that his main objective was forcibly recovery. He sent a danger message to Manquart Aulakh to his number in Italy. Sourav Jindal.

Mankirt Aulakh is known for songs like ‘Badnam’, ‘Khokhe’, ‘Gangaland’ and others.
