The legendary guitarist revealed that he was initially doubtful about regaining control of his hand. “The good news is that after the events of the last few days I can play the guitar and I say that because there was some doubt about it because the little health issue I mentioned happened about a week ago,” May said.

“They described it as a minor stroke. It was a bit scary, I must say,” he said, adding that he had lost control of his arm “all of a sudden.” Praising the doctors, May said, “I must say I got the most fantastic care and attention from Frimley Hospital, where I had flashing blue lights… lots of them.”
The Don’t Stop Me Now hitmaker explained that he hadn’t spoken about his health scare before because he “didn’t want there to be a buzz around (him).” May then instructed his fans not to contact him about it. “I really don’t want sympathy. Please don’t do it because it’ll clutter up my inbox and I hate that,” he said.

May reiterated that although he is “fine” now, he doesn’t have to push himself too much. “Just doing what I’m told, which is basically nothing. I have to stay home, I’m not allowed to go out,” he said. “Well, I’m not allowed to drive, not allowed to get on a plane, not allowed to get my heart rate up too high, not allowed to watch planes fly over, that would stress me out. But I’m fine,” the music legend added.
