New Delhi: 12 years after its original debut, a dispute around the end of the film has taken the platform of the Center for re -release.
Publicist posters revealed that Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor starrer “a new end run by Artificial Intelligence”.
AANAND L Rai rejected AI-Efted Ended End
However, director and co-producer Aanand L Rai revealed that he was neither informed nor consulted by the studio, Eros International about the change in the conclusion of the film.
In an interview with the screen, Rai said, “I came to know through a social media announcement a few days ago. People are already giving me a message that the end is being changed. I can’t just wrap my head around it.”
Following his request to stop the change, the filmmaker formally asked that his name had been removed from the film’s AI-reviewed version.
He said, “I didn’t get it. How can they do this? It’s an end that people have loved! If not a filmmaker, at least listen to the audience,” he said.
According to several media reports, the AI-Lated version changes the original tragic end- the character of the bow does not die, and instead “pleasant”.
Rai said, “What is a pleasant end? It is a tragedy, it is a feeling. How can you meditate with emotions? The voice of the film lies at that end,” Rai said.
Rai also raised widespread concerns about the use of AI. “The only good thing is that it has come out of it, I have learned my lesson. I have to be very careful while signing a dotted line. A studio doesn’t care about the story. Just to earn a few crores, they are tampering with the manufacture of a writer, director and actor,” he warned, he warned, hesitant to be careful about their rights.
Eros Media World Reactions
Eros International has clearly denied the allegations of Iyanand L. Rai, stating that the changed end is a creative regeneration – not replacement.
According to several media reports, Pradeep Dwivedi, the CEO of the company’s group, said: “Re-released is a respectable rehabilitation and is not ‘tampering’ of origin. It is clearly deployed as an alternative, A-Nhansed version, which re-edited classic cuts or globally.”
The company further said that it keeps the only and exclusive copyright of the film. It emphasized that Punarvakhya was “developed with sensitivity and respect for the contribution of the original creative team.”
Citing the Indian copyright law, Eros said: “It is a legal writer of a cinematographic work, and vest moral rights with the manufacturer’s director.”
Why is Iros releasing a new version of Ranjana?
According to a report by NEWS18, Eros International has allegedly sold the Tamil Nadu-based distributor abduction entertainment for the Tamil-language release updated to the A-Nhansed version of Ragajna.
The original Ranjanana tells the story of Kundan (Dhanush), who is a Hindu boy in love with a Muslim girl (Sonam Kapoor). In the original end, Kundan is tranmedly shot during a rally and later dies in a hospital.
However, in the AI-based Tamil version, the story has been re-written to give Kundan a different and alleged pleasant end.
