Radhika Madan, who stepped into the shoes of Aparna Balamurali in the Hindi remake (Sarfira) of Soorarai Pottru, recalled in an interview how Suriya reacted to her performance. News 18. Radhika Madan revealed that she was “scared” to see Suriya during the screening, fearing how he would react. Talking about Suriya’s reaction, Radhika Madan told News18, “He is very kind and gracious and a man of few words. He told me, ‘You have done a great job. The film is very good.’ And that meant a lot. He is a very calm person. Sudha ma’am has worked with Suriya before and she told me that if he has reacted like this to our film, it means Sarfira is really good.”
Radhika further added, “When he was watching the film I couldn’t look at him because I was so scared. I told myself that if he likes the film he will tell me and if he doesn’t he will keep quiet. I am glad he said something. It was an amazing feeling. Everyone came together as a team, believed in Sarfira and celebrated it as such.”
In an interview with India Today, Radhika spoke about the age difference with Akshay Kumar and said that people are talking about their “deep chemistry” after watching the film. “When the film was announced and when the trailer came out, that was the thing. But surprisingly after the release, I read 42 reviews and none of them mentioned the age difference,” Radhika told India Today. Sharing her happiness over the appreciation the film received, Radhika said, “They only said that they have great chemistry, deep chemistry and lovely chemistry. Everyone mentioned the chemistry. The same people who were saying, ‘Why so’ after watching the trailer.”
