New Delhi – Actor Rahul Bhat, known for his intense performance in Black Warrant and Anurag Kashyap’s ugly, is set to make his third attendance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. This time, he comes with a new milestone-his Hollywood debut in the Dramed Lost and Found in Kumbh of English-language, shown in the Cannes Film Market.
Bhat’s previous ear outing includes ugly (a fortnight of directors, 2013) and Kennedy (midnight screening, 2023). With Lost and Found in Kumbh, he creates a dramatic style and linguistic innings, away from the dark, to embrace the brooding characters, a lighing, family-centric story.
Directed by Debutant Mayur Puri and produced by Mulberry Films, Los Angeles -based, Lost and Found in Kumbh, tells the story of a philosophy Maddi in London who travels to Kumbh Mela in India with his British wife and son. The journey takes an unexpected turn when he knows his Indian ex-wife and his son living in his ancestral home-as his father mysteriously disappears. As the family finds him, the two step brothers disappear in the huge and chaotic crowd of the holy festival.
The shooting of the film was shot during the Maha Kumbh Mela in prayer – an incident that occurs once every 144 years and attracts more than 500 million pilgrims – for an authentic and visually rich background for emotional tale.
Considering the project, Bhat said, “For a change, someone offered me a drama. I have mostly played the role of dark, intensive characters, so it was fresh – some light, some in English. Some. Actor, we often forget where we are, lost in our scenes, but it was the real Aquarius.
This trip to Cannes comes on the heels of the fugitive success of Black Warrant on Netflix, where the portrayal of a difficult gel officer’s Bhat with a hidden emotional core helped the series one of the most viewed global titles in the stage in 2025.
Bhat 77 will play the role of controversial Indian politician Sanjay Gandhi in summer, directed by Sudhir Mishra and slate for release on Soniliv.
