Rajadhiraja Stage Premiere: World’s first Musical Odyssey at NMACC – Check Date, Ticket Price

Mumbai: The world’s first mega-musical show Sri Krishna-Rajadhiraj: A life full of love Conceptualised and produced by Dhanraj Nathwani, the show is set to enthrall the audience. This mega event (NMCC) Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre – Grand Theatre. The duration of this musical play will be 120 minutes, and shows will be shown daily from August 15 to September 1, 2024.

Rajadhiraja – what to expect

This captivating musical drama written by visionary Indian lyricist, screenwriter and Padma Shri award winner Prasoon Joshi, unravels the untold stories of Shri Krishna and brings to life the dual journey of Shri Krishna from Vraj to Mewar and Mathura to Dwarka, dramatized with spectacular visuals and a cast of over 100 actors.

Featuring over 60 dynamic dancers and over 40 actors under the direction of Shruti Sharma, the musical masterpiece blends together two journeys of Shri Krishna Shrinathji and his magnificent avatar king of kings dwarkadheesh Both appeared together on stage for the first time.

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita

From Krishna’s playful antics as the mischievous cowherd in Gokul, to his popularity among the village folk, to his profound role as the wise charioteer imparting the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, this musical drama presents the essence of Krishna’s multifaceted personality in a mesmerizing manner. The journeys of Shri Krishna as Shrinathji and Dwarkadhish are presented together on stage for the first time in an unprecedented musical drama.

Its charm is further enhanced by the soul-stirring soundtrack comprising 20 original songs composed by renowned composers Sachin-Jigar, blending Indian classical music with Western symphony orchestra along with Haveli music, Rajasthani and Gujarati folk music and Hindustani semi-classical styles.

award winner Bollywood production designer Omung Kumar Intricately weaving scenes that transport the audience to ancient India. Known for her work on many popular Indian films, renowned costume designer Neeta Lulla brings mythological characters to life with her expert craftsmanship. Through over 1,800 meticulously crafted costumes adorned with 5,000 floral hats, she beautifully portrays their divine playfulness, daring and profound philosophical depth, adding to the visual spectacle.

Choreographers: Bertwin D’Souza and Shampa GopikrishnaThe exquisite dance sequences immerse the audience even more in the multifaceted world of Krishna, giving a vibrant and engaging portrayal of the journey of the beloved deity. Shampa Gopikrishna carries forward the legacy of her late father, the great Nataraja Sri Gopikrishna, who was a Kathak maestro and choreographer.

With an engaging story, stunning visuals and heartwarming live music, executive producer Bhoomi Nathwani guarantees a highly entertaining experience. The show is creatively produced by music and theatre veterans Parthiv Gohil and Viral Rachh, while National Award-winning writer Ram Mori has meticulously contributed to the project’s in-depth story research. With a cast of over 100, Rajadhiraj promises to be an engaging portrayal of Shri Krishna’s leela.
