Filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, Shoojit Sirkar, Anjali Menon and Orir are ready to cooperate on the second installment My melbourneAn Indo-Australian anthology film project.
A press release stated that the project, produced by films presented by the Indian Film Festival (IFFM) of Melbourne (IFFM), is to continue to celebrate and strengthen the cultural diversity between India and Australia through cinema.
Released in March 2025, the inaugural edition included the short films of ONIR along with Reema Das, Imtiaz Ali and Kabir Khan, which addressed the subjects of identity, gender, breed, sexuality and disability.

Mitu Bhomik Lang, CEO of Mind Blowing Films and Project Creative Producers, said the first “My Melbourne” film’s response was “heavy and deeply full”.
“It has proved that stories stated with authenticity and heart can cross borders. We are honored for giving their voice and vision in another version of some of the most acclaimed filmmakers of Indian cinema.
He said, “The project continues to celebrate inclusion, cooperation and creativity between the projects of India and Australia, giving us an opportunity to work with emerging creatives under the communities represented,” he said.
Known for films like Hirani, Munna bhai Movies, 3 Idiots, PK, Sanju And Dunky, Said that he was excited to join a platform that promotes the cross-cultural story.
“My Melbourne provides a rare opportunity to tell a story that is intimate, universally and culturally echoing,” he said.
Menon said that the subjects discovered in Anthology aligned deeply with their storytelling ethos.
“Theme and intention behind My melbourne Align deeply with the kind of stories I like to tell – who create sympathy and bring people closer. I am thrilled to cooperate on this journey of storytelling in continents, ”he said.
Sirkar, whose diverse filmography includes films Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Piku, October And Sardar Udham“Storytelling does not know any limit. My Melbourne is a meaningful initiative that reminds us how the stories inherent in local contexts can have global importance.” On Anti, who is returning to Anthology, called it “a story that is still put in front”.
He said, “The opportunity to work with new subjects and voices, while continuing a journey I believe deeply, really rewarded,” he said.
