Rajpal Yadav came out of Tihar after interim bail, said- ‘10% people get a chance to live life once…’

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav came out of Tihar Jail on Tuesday after getting interim bail from Delhi High Court in the check bounce case.

The actor surrendered before the authorities on February 5 and spent 12 days in custody. On 16 February, the High Court imposed an interim suspension on his sentence until 18 March. Following the court order, the Karkardooma Court issued a release warrant, leading to his release on 17 February.

A bench of Justice Swarnakanta Sharma ordered interim suspension of Yadav’s sentence subject to certain conditions. The court directed the actor to deposit a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and a surety bond of the same amount.

While granting relief, the court also said that Rs 1.5 crore was deposited in the bank account of the defendant.

Will actors make a film on Tihar Jail?

Speaking exclusively to Zee News after his release, Yadav clarified that he has no immediate plans to make a film or write a book about his time in jail.

“No, not to make a film. I said a prayer as soon as I left Tihar,” he said, adding that making a film requires permission and the participation of 150-200 people, including a writer and director. “It is too early to make a film now.”

However, the actor said that the 12-day stay made him reflect deeply on the prison system. He appealed to prison authorities across the country to consider giving a second chance to some prisoners.

“But my advice is that those 10% who have a single case or who have committed a mistake out of anger should be given one more opportunity to live a life and work in the mainstream. (Without any politics or personal interest, I would like to request those 10% of the prisoners who have committed a mistake out of anger or who have made a mistake) the single case against them should be given another opportunity to return to the mainstream and rebuild their lives. Law Supreme Law Yes, and I respect it, but with folded hands I request the authorities to help such individuals reform.

“Indian cinema was, is and will always be with me.”

Reflecting on his journey, Yadav said that he has dedicated several decades to the entertainment industry.

He shared, “I have been working in cinema for 25 years, did television for three years and spent 10-12 years in theater training. I started earning money at the age of 11 to support myself and buy books.”

Expressing his gratitude, he said, “By the grace of God, crores of people know me today. Some blessed me, some prayed for me, some supported me emotionally or financially and many showed love through social media. I thank everyone.”

The actor reaffirmed his commitment to the film industry. “Indian cinema was with me, is with me and will always be with me. Even if I take 500 births, I would still like to be a part of Indian cinema and belong to the same village where I was born.”

Concluding on an emotional note, Yadav said he now wants time for reflection. “I know that time is the greatest healer and energizer of life. I need some time.”
