Rajpal Yadav check bouncing case: Speculations about actor Rajpal Yadav’s alleged release from Tihar Jail gained momentum after a video of him thanking superstar Salman Khan went viral on social media. The clip led many to believe that the actor has got relief in his ongoing Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce case. However, his wife Radha Yadav has now made it clear that he remains behind bars.
Rumors are being fueled by viral video
The controversy started after an old video resurfaced, in which Rajpal is seen addressing the media and praising Salman Khan. In the clip, he can be heard saying, “Salman bhai is like an elder brother. Sitting with Salman bhai today, I feel very happy from within.” He added, “To be honest, I feel relieved.”

The video quickly went viral, with many speculating that Salman Khan might have lent support to Rajpal to help get him released from jail.

Wife rejected claims of release
Putting an end to the rumours, Radha Yadav confirmed to Bombay Times that the actor has not been released.
“At present, he is not out of Tihar jail. The bail hearing is scheduled for Monday (February 16),” he said.
When asked about his well-being, she said briefly, “As far as I understand, he is fine.”

The family stands strong amid the crisis
Radha also shared that the family is united during these challenging times. He said, “Our entire family is together at this time. We are grateful for the support and love we have been receiving from their fans and the film fraternity.”
There have been reports that actors like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan have stepped in to help Rajpal clear his financial dues. However, Radha refrained from confirming any name.
“I can’t take any specific names right now, but I would just like to say that many people from the industry have come forward to support. I am not able to give names and figures at this stage,” she said cautiously.
Ending on a hopeful note, she said, “We hope he comes out soon. That’s all I can say right now. Once Rajpalji comes out, he will be able to talk to you and the media and give more clarity on the matter.”
Previous order of Delhi High Court
According to ANI, the Delhi High Court had earlier withdrawn the leniency granted to Rajpal Yadav and directed him to surrender before the concerned jail superintendent by February 4, 2026, citing repeated violations of undertakings to pay settlement dues.
The trial court had suspended his sentence to June 2024 to facilitate an amicable settlement. However, the High Court found that even the promised partial payments through demand drafts and installments were not made within the stipulated time frame. The court also rejected explanations citing technical or typographical errors, saying they failed to inspire confidence given the persistent pattern of default.
