Rajpal Yadav speaks for the first time after his release from Tihar Jail, thanks fans for their support. Watch

New Delhi: Actor Rajpal Yadav came out of Tihar Jail on Tuesday after getting interim bail from Delhi High Court in the check bounce case.

The actor, known for his comic roles in Bollywood films, walked out of the jail premises amid heavy security and media presence. Yadav, dressed in simple attire and looking calm, talked for a while to the media persons waiting outside.

“I will be completing 30 years in Bollywood. Every child of the country stood with me, that’s why I was able to make 200-250 films. The child, the Buddha, the youth of Indian cinema are a part of my college…was with me and is with me. The people of the entire country were with me. (I am about to complete 30 years in Bollywood. Addressing the ongoing legal battle regarding the check bounce case, Rajpal Yadav said, “It started in 2012, today it is 2026. In the last 10 years, wherever the High Court has given orders, I have been present and in the future too, wherever the orders are given, I will be present. The way the country, the world and Bollywood have given me the purity.” Love given, if there is any expectation from me, I am 100 percent available. Thank you High Court, you gave me a chance to be heard. I am available to answer any allegation I face. Thank you, High Court, for giving me an opportunity to be heard.”

The Delhi High Court on Monday granted an interim stay on his sentence till March 18.

Passing the order, a bench of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma directed Yadav to deposit a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and a surety of the same amount. The court said that while considering the relief, Rs 1.5 crore has been deposited in the bank account of the defendant.

It ordered suspension of the sentence on the condition that Yadav deposits a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and a surety bond of like amount.
