Bengaluru: Naveen Kumar of MRT Music Company filed a complaint at Yashwantpur Police Station in Bengaluru.
According to the police, the complaint alleged that two popular Kannada songs were used in Rakshith Shetty’s Paramavah Studios’ film “Bachelor Party” without consent.
The song ‘Nyaya Elide’ from the film ‘Nyaya Elide’ and the song ‘Ome Ninnanu’ from the film ‘Gaali Maatu’ were used in the film. ‘Paramavah Studios’ has also been named as a party in the FIR.
In January 2024, discussions were held with the complainant regarding the use of these songs, but the talks failed. According to the police, despite this, popular songs were used in violation of the Copyright Act.
The police have issued a notice to Rakshith Shetty to appear for questioning in connection with the case. A case has been registered under Section 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957.
